How to Assemble a Laminated Timber House on a Prepared Site

So, you've purchased a laminated timber house. Congratulations! Now you have time to complete all the preparatory work, namely obtaining a building permit and laying the foundation.

The big day has arrived, and your laminated timber house kit has been delivered. You've unloaded the container and discovered the numbered beams packed in separate bundles. You have laid them out around the foundation and started the assembly.

Step 1: Preparation and Initial Actions

First of all, you need to:

1. **Check the kit:** Ensure all necessary elements are present and in good condition.

2. **Mark the foundation:** Prepare the base for installing the beams, checking levels and diagonals.

3. **Install the first rows:** Start assembling by laying the first rows (lower beams) on the foundation, ensuring they are level and accurate.

Step 2: Wall Assembly

Assembly is carried out with a crane during daylight hours. This process takes about 2-4 days. Follow these steps:

1. **Install subsequent rows:** Sequentially install the next rows of beams, securing them to each other.

2. **Control geometry:** Constantly check the angles and verticality of the walls to avoid distortions.

3. **Install window and door openings:** As you build the walls, leave spaces for windows and doors.

Step 3: Roof Assembly

Congratulations, the house structure is assembled! Now we proceed to the roof assembly. This stage takes 2-4 days.

1. **Install rafters:** Start by installing the rafter system, ensuring its reliability and strength.

2. **Lay roofing material:** Complete the roof by laying the roofing material, ensuring it is weatherproof and secure.

Congratulations, the house is roofed!

Step 4: Window and Door Installation

Now we proceed to the installation of windows and doors. This stage takes 1-2 days.

1. **Install window units:** Insert and secure the windows, ensuring they are sealed properly.

2. **Install door units:** Similarly, install the doors, ensuring they open and close smoothly.

Step 5: Engineering Work and Interior Finishing

The house is built, just a few steps left:

1. **Electrical wiring and plumbing:** Lay the electrical wiring and install the plumbing equipment. This stage can take up to 2 weeks.

2. **Install interior doors:** Place and secure the interior doors.

3. **Lay floors and install heating:** Complete by laying the floor coverings and installing the heating system.

Congratulations, you can move in! Your laminated timber house is ready for comfortable living.
